Our Services

Our service analyses include compositional and sensory analysis for a range of quality control, troubleshooting, authenticity and product development applications. In addition to whisky, we analyse a wide range of other samples including new-make spirits, other spirits and associated production samples.

Examples of the most requested analyses are listed below. Many of these are UKAS accredited. If the analysis you require is not on the list, please ask. We have the skills to develop bespoke methods on behalf of our member companies. In the rarer instances where we cannot carry out the testing in-house, we have strong links with other laboratories and can facilitate this on your behalf.

In addition to providing results and test reports, we help our members with their interpretation and application. Some of the more routine analyses are also available to non-member companies.

We operate a rigorous quality system and many of our routine analytical methods* are accredited for testing by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS Schedule of Accreditation for SWRI Services Ltd). To support this, we participate in several proficiency schemes including DAPS (Distillers Analytes Proficiency Scheme) and MAPS (Malt Analytes Proficiency Scheme).
